Renée Zellweger brought Beatrix Potter to life in the 2007 film, Miss Potter
Now come and explore Beatrix Potter Country – we are very close to Sawrey where Miss Potter lived and many of the location shots were filmed, in the spectacular Lake District countryside.
Perhaps her most famous book “The Tale of Peter Rabbit”, was published in 1902, and was the first of the 23 Beatrix Potter wrote about woodland animals. Visiting her home and the areas featured in her books, it’s easy to put yourself in her shoes – it brings the books to life and adds an extra depth to them, seeing the landscapes she looked out on.
The English Lake District is one of the most beautiful places in the UK to explore, with a tremendous variety of activities.
There are activities which will appeal to all types – whether you’re looking for a lazy break away from it all and enjoy a bit of peace and quiet, or a short action-packed holiday of ziplining, off-road adventures or epic hikes in the hills – the Lake District has it all.
If you like mountain biking, the epic trails in the Kentmere Valley are only 20 minutes away. The lake district is a truly beautiful place to cycle around.
